OUR WORSHIP

Our Worship Service

If you would like to experience a grounded, reverent, and inspiring worship service, we hope that you have found the right place! Our worship is simple and is based on the New Testament.

 Singing

We pour our hearts into songs as we sing together acapella style (Colossians 3:16). You will probably be familiar with some of the hymns, and are invited to join with us and sing.  Our goal is to praise God and encourage one another, and the whole-heartedness is more important than the tune.

Praying

Men in the congregation will lead us in prayers (1 Timothy 2:1-4). This is an opportunity for our family in Christ to gather together and share our thoughts, needs, and concerns with God. If we can help you by including your own needs in our prayers, please let one of our shepherd's know. You can also write down a request on a Prayer Request card found in the blue books (passed around before service) and place the card in the collection basket or hand it to a member.

 God's Word Preached

There will be a sermon that is centered on God's word.  Feel free to take notes and write down any questions that you may have; we'd be happy to discuss them with you. The speaker won't push his own opinions or politics - he will simply read in the Bible and help us to understand the meaning (Neh. 8:8). We hope that the tone is positive and hopeful - while also being realistic about God's expectations for us all.

Communion

The Lord's Supper, or Communion, will also be served. The New Testament teaches us that Christians, also called the Body of Christ, are to do this on the first day of every week (Acts 20:7). If you do not wish to participate, please feel free to simply pass the serving trays to the next individual.

Offering

We will also take up a collection, as we have example of in 1 Corinthians 16:1-2. As our honored guest, please don't feel any responsibility for this. You can cheerfully pass the basket to your neighbor, knowing that we are so happy that you have come to visit with us.

We hope that you will leave our assembly with a desire to learn more about God's word, to seek answers to your questions, and to determine how you would like to include God in your life. It would be our pleasure to be a part of your journey as you seek out the truth!
