Information on Our Children's Classes
0 - 2 Year Olds
Cradle Roll is designed
so your baby can begin to learn about God and His creation from the beginning
of their life. They learn to sing songs; they learn to bow their heads and fold
their hands for prayer; they learn to love the Bible. They learn about how God
created the earth, their family, the animals and baby Jesus. Pagers are
available, and there is an attended nursery during the worship hour where the
babies can play freely with supervision.
2 - 3 Year Olds
This class is called
"Faithful Farmers." The classroom is designed to be a farm setting. The
students learn about loving and obeying God, parents and the Bible. They also
learn to share with and to love their Bible class friends. Each lesson teaches
Bible stories from the Old and New Testaments, along with applying the lessons
to modern-day life. The boys and girls are given many hands-on applications.
They are also encouraged to learn Bible facts, memory verses and to begin
learning the books of the Bible.
4 Year Olds
The 4-year-old classroom
is a sheepfold. The students are taught about God's loving care for His people;
His sheep. There are shepherd's coats for the children to wear during class if
they desire. They record their attendance by moving a little sheep across the
wall. They work on learning the names of the 66 books of the Bible. Every class
period offers a hands-on Bible lesson, crafts, songs, review and a game. After
6 visits to class, students get to pick a prize out of the treasure chest.
Kindergarten
This classroom has a jungle setting. The entire year is spent studying Old and New Testament worship. Most all the familiar Bible characters are studied and lessons applied to our lives today. The 4 sections of the curriculum include: Worship is a Choice; What God said about Worship According to the Law of Moses; Praising God for the Things He has Done; New Testament Worship and Christian Living.
1st Grade
The students enter a Camp
setting because this curriculum is titled "Camp Truth." Each student receives a
backpack that remains in the classroom through the year so they can add to it
any memory rewards they earn. Camp Truth is about how God has always spoken to
man from the beginning of time, including now through His word. Students hike
their way through the Patriarchs, Moses, the Judges, Kings, Prophets, John the
Baptizer, Jesus and the Apostles. Student learn how to use their Bibles. They
also collect pebbles each class period for being there, bringing a friend,
bringing their Bible and completion of classwork.
2nd Grade
Students enter the
classroom to study all about the life of Jesus; the early church and the
disciples of Jesus. Rather than desks or tables and chairs, they sit all during
class in a boat that is almost as big as the room! They are surrounded by a
nautical theme including the ocean and light houses. The class periods consist
of Bible lessons, using the Bible, memory verses, songs, skits, action
activities, review games, arts, crafts and puzzle pages.
3rd Grade
Third graders are called "Bible Time Travelers." They enter a classroom set up as a time capsule, where they travel back to every book of the Bible, visiting Bible characters, events and places through power point presentations. The screen is the windshield of the time capsule. They sign in for each class with a personalized passport which gives them a Bible verse to look up and fill-in-the-blanks. GPS (God's Positioning System) is used to locate each destination and comparisons are made to the large wall painted with a map of the Bible lands. Throughout the course of the year, the students find Jesus in every book of the Bible whether it is through promises, prophesies or fulfillment. Great emphasis is also placed on the chronological timeline of the Bible characters and events.
4th Grade
This classroom has a construction theme with the focus
on God as our architect and the Bible our blueprint. As students learn to
"build" a Christian life, they actually"construct" a house on the wall that
represents building their own life for God the Father. As a crew member of
G.T.F. Builders, Inc., the students go through the Old Testament from Genesis
to Malachi. The Old Testament points to the coming of Christ and this is
emphasized over and over. Students earn tool boxes with tools as they complete
their memory work. They also collect points for attendance, bringing their
Bible to class, bringing a friend, and doing their classwork. They move through
levels that begin with "Handy Man" and progress through "Apprentice Carpenter,"
"Journeyman" and "Master Carpenter."
5th Grade
5th and 6th graders study under an "F.B.I." theme.
This stands for "Famous Bible Investigators." They approach their study as
investigators, searching God's word to learn all they can about the life of
Christ. The entire year is devoted to the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke and
John. God the Father has always had a plan to free man from sin. It began
before time and was accomplished in New Testament times with Jesus. Students
will look at Jesus' role as Savior; His purpose in coming to earth - to seek
and to save the lost. As students earn points for turning in assignments,
memory verses, etc., they advance in FBI rankings from "Trainee" to “Agent,â€
"Detective," and "Super Snooper."
6th Grade
6th graders
are "Soldiers of Christ" and study in a room decorated with a military theme.
This curriculum is based on Paul's words to the young missionary, Timothy, "You
therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ." (II Timothy
2:3) It is also the last of a 3-year study of the Godhead: God the Father, God
the Son, and God the Holy Spirit with all lessons focusing on the Holy Spirit.
Each lesson uses scripture and examples that are compatible with the life of
service expected of a soldier. Emphasis is on Godly values that are also taught
in the 7 Army Values used by modern U.S. Armed Forces: Loyalty, Duty, Respect,
Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage. Each lesson teaches
about the Holy Spirit and answers questions like "who," "what" and "how." He
worked with the disciples of Jesus in New Testament times and how He works with
us today. Students are given many applications they can apply to their own
lives. Each quarter, students are taken through the progression and examples of
a modern-day soldier. 1st quarter: What does it take to be a good
soldier of Christ? 2nd quarter: Basic Training (Boot Camp) Learning
the basics of serving God and becoming a Christian. 3rd quarter:
Advances Individual Training (AIT) Learning to use individual talents to serve
the Lord. 4th quarter: Active Duty - Being a good Christian on duty
24/7 applying your training to actively serve the Lord.
7th - 12th grades
